In a recently published report, the Office of Inspector General has determined that nursing home complaints rose 33% from 2011 to 2015.  Over this 5-year period, the number of complaints that States received per 1,000 residents increased from 32.7 to 44.9 complaints per year.  Of note, States substantiated 31%, on average, of the most serious nursing home complaints pertaining to resident care.  Florida nursing home complaints per 1,000 residents rose from 27.6 in 2011 to 32.0 in 2015.
