Mrs. Garcia will focus her practice on litigating first party property loss claims and property coverage matters.
Before joining Stockham Law Group, Mrs. Garcia operated her own firm, The Law Office of Joanna Garcia Parkin PLLC. Previously, she worked as a complex business litigation attorney for Carlton Fields, P.A. in Tampa, where she had been a Shareholder since 2008. Mrs. Garcia has defended numerous large and mid-sized corporations and businesses, including some of the largest insurance companies in the country. “Being a defense attorney most of my career at one of the top firms in the country has prepared me to transition into the role that I am meant to be in — an advocate for plaintiffs who deserve a passionate and knowledgeable representative that understands how insurance companies deal with these matters,” said Mrs. Garcia. “I am also looking forward to assisting Spanish-speaking individuals who may not fully understand their policy rights due to language barriers,” added Garcia, who is bilingual. Mrs. Garcia attended law school at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. After graduating in 2000, she served as a judicial law clerk in the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division.
